Summary
There are many factors that affect the productivity and cost of the fully mechanized whole tree harvesting system. Landowners must be very careful while selecting harvesting stand, harvesting machine, silvicultural prescription, and operators as well as before making any other harvesting decision. Landowners, foresters, and loggers need to understand and be aware of how a small change in each of the affecting factors can impact on the landowners’ profit.
