Introduction

In this member profile Catherine (Kate) Seago reflects on over 40 years in libraries and her long professional career in acquisitions and electronic resources. Providing valuable reflections on how technical services work has changed over the decades, driven by technology, Kate provides her views on the skills needed to succeed in the field today. Zeroing on the professional value of NASIG, Kate discusses how our organization provides community, professional development, and valuable service to the profession. Kate retired in December 2025.
