Responsibilities of Editors and Editorial Board

Responsibilities of Editors and Editorial Board The editorship of the VWSP volumes changes annually and will, most likely, be led by the organizer(s) of the corresponding Annual Conference on Virginia Woolf. Volume editor(s) are responsible for distributing the Call for Papers to presenters at their Annual Conference and for vetting/choosing the papers to be included. The review process is not anonymous. The series editor will work with the volume editor(s) when necessary to ensure that the distribution of the call as well as the review process and manuscript preparation is completed within a reasonable timeframe following the corresponding Annual Conference. The editorial board will advise the series and volume editors as needed.

The volume editor(s) will compile and review their manuscript for adherence to word count (each volume may not exceed 100,000 words); organization, cohesion, and consistency in development of the topic; clarity and precision of the writing; consistency and accuracy in presentations and discussions of data; accuracy in citations and references; proper grammar, mechanics, and style; and avoidance of errors (e.g., typos, repeated words). Before submitting to VWSP, authors should ensure that the article conforms to the series’s style guide.

Formatting Requirements

Virginia Woolf: Selected Papers has no general rules about the formatting of articles upon initial submission. There are, however, rules governing the formatting of the final submission. See Final Manuscript Preparation Guidelines for details. Although bepress can provide limited technical support, it is ultimately the responsibility of the author to produce an electronic version of the article as a high-quality PDF (Adobe's Portable Document Format) file, or a Microsoft Word, WordPerfect or RTF file that can be converted to a PDF file.

It is understood that the current state of technology of Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF) is such that there are no, and can be no, guarantees that documents in PDF will work perfectly with all possible hardware and software configurations that readers may have.
