Summary
Cover crops are gaining interest from Southeastern US farmers. Their benefits include adding nutrients to the soil, preventing erosion, safeguarding against weather extremes, reducing compaction, and suppressing weeds. This article explains how cover crops offer additional wildlife benefits when integrated into agroecosystems and providing habitat for beneficial insects and a food resource for mammals and birds.
