Summary
A new pest of grain and forage sorghum, the sugarcane aphid (Melanaphis sacchari), was found for the first time in South Carolina in October 2014. The insect rapidly became a key pest of sorghum. This publication provides an overview of the insect’s biology and recommended management practices.
