Abstract
If you’ve been in the world of camp health for more than a summer or two, you remember when a health form was just that: a form. You collected it, you filed it, and if a kid scraped a knee, you pulled it out of the folder. Simple.
As you’ve likely realized, that’s not the world we’re living in anymore. Today, that same record is rarely just paperwork. It’s also a liability you must manage intentionally—not because camps and schools have gotten careless, but because the ground has shifted. Parents are more aware. Regulations have sharpened. And the ways we can accidentally mishandle a family’s most sensitive information have multiplied right along with the technology meant to protect it. Let’s talk about what “doing it right” looks like in 2026.
