Summary
Fungicide sprays are necessary to manage the disease downy mildew on cucurbits (vine crops in the squash family) in the eastern United States. For 2019, the top fungicides recommended in South Carolina are Orondis Opti, Elumin, and Ranman. For watermelon and squash, other fungicides may also be used. Growers always should spray at least two different fungicides in rotation with each other, following any additional recommendations on the labels.
