Summary

Powdery mildew is a common disease on watermelon during moderately dry weather in South Carolina and the southeastern United States. Powdery mildew develops quickly on non-treated watermelon leaves. Several powdery mildew-specific fungicides help manage this disease, if they are applied when powdery mildew is seen. This fact sheet will help growers, Extension agents, and crop consultants prevent yield losses up to 75% of the crop.
