About This Journal
The Journal of Wyndham Lewis Studies (JWLS) is an international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to the study of Wyndham Lewis (1882-1957) and related subjects, such as literary modernism, Vorticism, and other avant-garde arts movements and 'isms'. Wyndham Lewis was a modernist painter, writer, and cultural critic. He is known for establishing the Vorticist movement and its mouthpiece magazine BLAST (1914), and also for such novels as Tarr (1918), The Apes of God (1930), and The Revenge for Love (1937). JWLS aims to promote study of Lewis from inclusive, interdisciplinary, and diverse angles that critique and complicate his oeuvre and legacy. We particularly welcome articles that approach Lewis through global, comparative, and transnational lines of inquiry. Along with publishing work by academics, JWLS welcomes contributions from anyone with an interest in Lewis and his work. We are especially keen to welcome work from independent scholars and historical researchers, postgraduate students, and contingent faculty. If you would like to discuss an article, please feel free to contact the journal's Editors, Dr. Jo Cottrell and Dr. Louise Kane.
