The current issue opens with an Editor’s Note that describes how JYD has adopted the I.D.E.A.S. Framework to integrate inclusivity, diversity, equity, access, and related supports into all elements of the manuscript development, submission, review, and editorial process.
This issue’s Feature Article reframes youth science learning from an individual literacy to a collective literacy approach using youth participatory action research as a model for efficacious community science engagement.
Four Research and Evaluation Articles are also highlighted in the current issue. One study evaluates a youth bicycle club program using an empowerment-based positive youth development framework and an interpretive phenomenological analysis approach. The second article examines youth perceptions of a summer grief and trauma-informed empowerment arts program. The third study explores how adult youth workers from different non-profit organizations supported youth of color as youth were involved in activism using a social justice youth development approach. The fourth article examines long-term outcomes of camp participation from the perspective of program alumni from low-income backgrounds.
We extend sincere gratitude to the authors who selected JYD as the platform for their scholarship and to reviewers who contributed to the quality of JYD through their service. Additionally, we acknowledge and thank the co-sponsoring associations NAE4-HYDP and NAA for their invaluable support.
