Abstract
After 10 years working with faculty in the College of Health, Education, and Human Development as a Grants Coordinator at Clemson University while working toward a Masters in Landscape Architecture I have become concerned that the research necessary to add to the body of knowledge in human behavior and the built environment seldom includes Landscape Architects. Working with communities, Landscape Architects make recommendations most often based on a wide knowledge of case studies. This presents an excellent opportunity for long term research. Unfortunately, without substantial funding, scientific research using rigorous methodology is seldom possible.
