Abstract
This course explores American national government, balancing institutional standards with government beyond amendments. The course equips students to understand their roles as citizens. Key components include blended learning, a civic engagement letter project, and coverage of civil liberties, civil rights, public opinion, interest groups, the media, political parties, political campaigns, voting behavior, elections, the presidency, bureaucracy, the US Congress, the judiciary, and public policy.
