Abstract
The principal goal of my graduate study has been to develop and refine personal representations of my perceptions. This development has required explorations of various design principles and media. These explorations have provided a catalogue of solutions to representational problems, and constructive evaluations during the art-making process have refined specific techniques. This thesis explains the process by which my perceptions are made visual in a personalized manner. The conceptual roots, technical aspects, and major influences of work are discussed. Ideally, this thesis will provide insight for further ob-servations of my work, as the writing of it has reinforced my understanding of these concepts and techniques.
