A Criminal Justice Facility and Courthouse
Abstract
Society has found it necessary to have rules governing its member's conduct, and by extension those rules. This system is the criminal justice system, which seeks to protect the individuals and society by reducing the risk of crime and apprehending, judging, punishing, and rehabilitating those who violate society's rules. The criminal justice system is easily broken down into three major components: the law enforcement agencies, whose goal is to prevent crime and apprehend criminals; the courts, whose task is to judge those accused of committing a crime; and the corrections agencies, who must punish/rehabilitate criminals in order that they will become productive members of society.
