Summary
Health interventions are a way to change perspectives and behaviors that can improve health overall. This publication explores the diverse factors that influence patient participation in health interventions. This article offers suggestions and solutions to the obstacles that may limit people from participating in community-based health interventions. This article may be helpful to community health workers, rural health extension agents, Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) educators, SNAP-Ed educators, Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Educators, and other community nutrition educators. This article identifies barriers to and pieces of the community health network in order to paint a better picture of how we can all work together to improve the health of our communities.
