Abstract
This activity asks students to move beyond conceptual analysis and into critical design thinking by collaboratively imagining what an alternative, more just urban future could look like in Cape Town—grounded in the struggles and organizing practices explored in Days 10 and 11. Drawing on site visits (e.g., Cissie Gool House, PASSOP, Triangle Project, queer food growing collective) and course materials, students will identify key failures of current systems—such as exclusionary housing, migrant injustice, and neoliberal queer politics—and then design a community-based intervention or initiative that addresses these issues.
