Abstract

This in-class activity invites students to critically examine and transform their understanding of “global citizenship” by integrating insights from the first four days of the course. Beginning with Day 1’s critique of study abroad and global engagement, students will reflect on how dominant narratives of global citizenship often obscure systems of power, privilege, and inequity. They will then connect these critiques to experiential learning from Days 2–4, including site visits and discussions on settler colonialism, spatial apartheid, memory, and carceral systems.
