“Do we have to work in groups?” Foundations, Ground Rules and Reflections Improves Group Work

Summary
Group work has been used to help aid in learning but it needs to be properly structured to be successful. Students often reply to group work assignments with “Do we have to work in groups?” However, there are tools such as a foundational presentation, designating ground rules and mid-semester reflections that help student better see the benefit gained from group work.
